It was a great show, but it was totally RUINED for me.
About 1/3 of the audience (including myself) was seated behind this f*ck'n sound technician and sound board!!!!!!!!! WE COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING but the far left and the far right of the stage!!!!! I had been waiting for MONTHS to see this show, and all I get to do is LISTEN and every now and then, watch as the sound guy reaches for a knob here and there and we all sway back and forth, up and down trying to look under his armpits to catch a glimpse of what's going on on stage. I look around me at the other people in the crowd... most have a big frown on their face because of this, especially all of those directly behind this guy. Why on EARTH was his console 4+ feet high and him standing at 5.5-6feet tall... WHY WAS HIS CONSOLE NOT LOWER AND HE SITTING?????!!!!!!
I AM SO PISSED OFF by the whole thing. It was supposed to be memorable event for my wife and myself -- our first 'date' -- first time out by ourselves without our kids in tow.. I had planned it for months... looking forward to this 'date' of ours... to do something we hadn't done for years... and to see Hawksley was perfect because we practically listen to his music every time we're in the car... singing along... Now I cannot listen to that music without thinking of that concert and how pissed off I was sitting there for hours, not able to see a damned thing... trying my best to be positive... trying my best not to frown but enjoy.... but you know what... it didn't work. It was a HUGE disappointment. I paid about 80 bucks to see that show + driving a good 50 kilometres, + parking... AAAARRRRGGGG... I wish I could just forget the whole thing!! We didn't even talk the whole way driving back home other than, "Good show huh?" "Yup." We couldn't even bring up the fact that WE COULDN'T SEE!!! That's how pissed we were. We still haven't mentioned it to each other.
