No, the presale isn't a scam; you're just not alone in your
love of Hawksley Workman.
Our presales sell only a small quantity of tickets, usually
around 10 per cent. This is because most venues have contracts with ticketing
agencies like Ticketmaster that only allow groups like HawksleyWorkman.com to sell a small percentage of
tickets.
Let’s say we only have 300 tickets available for a presale
that’s taking place at 10am. And 100 people have logged into the Store at
9:59am in hopes of buying those tickets. And those 100 people want to buy an
average of three tickets. At 10am, those 100 people all submit their orders and
the result is that all the tickets are instantly reserved.
Please note that a “reserved” ticket is not the same as a
sold ticket. Tickets are reserved and then the purchaser has ten minutes to
finish the check out process. If the purchaser does not check out during this
time, leaves the Store, suffers a computer crash, etc. , the purchaser will
lose those tickets. This means that even though all the tickets might initially
be reserved, there is still a chance that you will be able to purchase a
ticket. It's very common for a few of
those reserved tickets to be tossed back on sale so keep trying until you
receive a message that says that all tickets have sold out.
